Really like your portraits, Donn. The difference between Brock’s photos and the James Dean photo is that James Dean seems to be hiding from the spotlight, “embarrassed” by all the attention, while Brock is posing, embracing the attention. But maybe you knew that and decided to make it the main feature.
Alex, I would describe James Dean as mischievous there, the way he's peeking out. And his hair supports that, a young boy's shock of hair, almost. Since I didn't think emulating the shot exactly would be best with Brock as a subject, I went in a different direction, you're correct.
These are incredibly strong person which says both something about you as the photographer as well as the model. There is a strong connection. One of my favorites is the older image you took of him. That to me is stunning and so well composed!!
All the new images are great, but the one stands out as the "winner" to me is the one where the focus is on the eyes but the his hand wraps around his neck laying on this turtle neck sweater (number 3 of the new images). I reacted to that one immediately and definitely can see it on a magazine cover. The lighting and pose are brilliant. Outstanding work!
.. who is Brock ? 🦎🏴☠️
We met him at an art gallery. He's not a model, he just has striking features and is willing to make images. He's a good guy.
to me, a good day!
Thank you!
I like the one with the elbow in the air
Me too, thanks Gery!

They’re all good photos, Donn, but I really like the third one where he has his elbow pointed up. That one’s really good.
Thanks Mark, much appreciated!
I really like the first one!
