There's value in having a consistent style that everybody will recognize, especially if you reach a level of success where people would reasonably guess an image is yours just from happening upon it. Otoh I love to create in a variety of different styles. So, that's what I've been doing, even if it's _not_ perhaps the best way to grow an audience.

Style is one thing. But it should not be to grow an audience. The aim is always your own pleasure first. Anything else is a bonus.
