Critter Comedy

"Everybody funny. Now you funny, too."

I used this quote to open last week: “All I wanna do is have some fun, I got a feelin’ I’m not the only one” - Sheryl Crow

She’s not the only one. Me, too.

So… In the words of John Cleese,¹

Not my image, dang!

Critters can be comedic. I’m not sure they’re aware, but they’re “funny too.”²

It’s safe to say that none of what you are about to see was Monty Python-like scripted. This is improv, and in many ways, that’s even more fun.

You promised you’d bring me a towel.

I should note that, when I’m watching critters, sometimes I’m not the only one who is puzzled by what I’m seeing:

What the heck are you doing?

The images you’ve seen so far were taken at our new property. A person could easily argue it’s not really “ours” just because a piece of paper says so. Or, a person could argue the other way and claim the critters are trespassing. It’s an esoteric discussion; we all live here. Whether we’re all literally under the same roof, or not.

Mi casa es tu casa

There are funny things happening all around me. It prompts the question, “What’s in your back yard”? That’s a teaser, you’ll hear about it later.

Meantime, sticking with the comedic theme, following are some oldies but goodies from previous travels and personal homes, alike:

He’s been waiting for me to say something interesting. It’s been a while now. You can see it in his eyes; he’s about to give up.

I don’t blame him. He has a lot of company, I’m afraid.

2. “Everybody funny. Now you funny too.” comes from George Thoroughgood’s rendition of a blues song written by Rudy Toombs and recorded by Amos Milburn in 1953, which was also famously performed by John Lee Hooker. George’s is the best though, in my opinion.
